Lynn Creek Park, Grand Prairie, Texas
Lynn Creek Park is an exciting destination park for the citizens of Grand Prairie & its surrounding neighborhoods. Recreation Consultants of Texas worked closely with the Landscape Architecture division of Schrickel, Rollins, & Associates to design a custom themed playground. Activities include a sailing ship headed out to sea, a multi-level lighthouse, & a safe rubber surfacing that enhances the overall theme with the look of flowing water swirling around the ship. For the design needs as presented by SRA, Recreation Consultants of Texas teamed up with Landscape Structures for the playground equipment, NoFault Safety Surfacing, & Sunports Shade Solutions. All companies worked closely together with the LA’s at SRA to provide a finished product that was featured on the cover of Landscape Architect & Specifier News Magazine in September of 2007. Custom Swings of Texas, the certified installers for Landscape Structures, facilitated the installation of the playground equipment for the ship & for the lighthouse. This project was completed in the fall of 2007.

McPherson Park, Colleyville, Texas
McPherson Park in Colleyville is another beautiful example of what we like to call “The Perfect Park”. Completed in October 2007, the park is a destination park for not only the citizens of Colleyville, but its neighbors in Southlake and other towns around it. The plans were orchestrated by Newman, Jackson, Bieberstein, Inc., a highly respected Landscape Architecture firm in Dallas. Recreation Consultants of Texas was asked to design the playground equipment using the highly successful EVOS system by Landscape Structures that had been introduced to Texas first in Colleyville at Sparger Park in January 2007.
By combining the EVOS with the other design elements in the playground, we achieve our goal of providing challenging activities that build core muscles as well as thinking and decision making skills for the 5-12 year olds, with plenty of aerobic activity for all ages, but especially the 2-5 year olds. The climbers get a workout on the realistic rock feature called the Pinnacle. The spinning motion on the Saddle Spinner really gets the kids all wound up, and what would a playground be without the swingset? It all adds up to a really great day at the park for all ages, including parents and grandparents. We finished off the site furnishings with Maglin’s benches and trash receptacles for durability and beauty to match the play equipment. Like we said, it’s a “Perfect Park”!

Lost Creek Park, Austin, Texas
Lost Creek Park is a beautiful park nestled among trees in the Austin neighborhood known as Lost Creek. RCT worked closely with the MUD district & the HOA committee to design a system with as much play value as possible while still fitting inside a very unusual shape where inches were critical. Trees had to be preserved in this nature conscious community. Custom Swings of Texas was the installation company, & using its full size templates showing the hole locations was a must to accurately lay out this huge playground in its relatively small space to meet all ASTM fall zone requirements. This most difficult installation was completed without issue on time & within budget because of the preplanning & close coordination with the MUD District representatives & the HOA. The playground features a 2-5 & 5-12 structure. Cool Toppers provide shade for 2-5 year olds, and the 5-12 year olds get to play on LSI's exclusive Spacenet™ and "Ridge" rock climbing feature, as well as the Gyro Twister and Triple Ring Fling, all Landscape Structures exclusives. This playground was completed in early summer, 2008.

Town Park, Mansfield, Texas
When the Mansfield Parks Facilities Development Corporation decided to design the city’s signature park to be located along the Walnut Creek Trail System, they chose Halff and Associates to be their Landscape Architects on the project, and Landscape Structures to be their playground equipment designers. While working closely with Lenny Hughes at Halff and James Fish at the city, Recreation Consultants of Texas was able to communicate to the custom designers at LSI that the city’s Founders owned a grist mill that had made flour for the early settlers, and that the playground equipment design needed to incorporate a gristmill and water theme to honor the city’s heritage! The finished product was entered into the Texas Recreation and Park Society’s 2006 Park Design Excellence Awards competition and it won the award for best Park Facilities and Design! When a custom design is needed to communicate the overall theme that the customer is trying to develop, there is no other company equipped like Landscape Structures to deliver that message. Town Park was dedicated on June 23, 2006, and has the reputation of being one of the most used parks in the entire DFW Metroplex. Recreation Consultants of Texas and Landscape Structures are proud to have been selected for this most prestigious project.
