Recreation Consultants of Texas, LLC (RCT) was formed in January, 2000 to become the manufacturer’s representative in North Central Texas for Landscape Structures, Inc. the world’s leading manufacturer of high quality commercial playground equipment. RCT is owned by Deborah Muse who also founded Custom Swings of Texas, Inc. (CST), the Certified Installation company for Landscape Structures. CST was formed in 1984 to be a regional manufacturer of premium wooden residential playground equipment. After 16 years in the manufacturing, distribution and retail sales of residential play equipment, Deborah decided that new and bigger challenges were needed to keep her “in the game” and, because of her reputation as a successful business owner in a related market segment, she was asked by Steve and Barb King, owners of Landscape Structures, to represent their company in the open Texas territory. Excited about the new possibilities and challenges this appointment would bring, Deborah accepted the offer and RCT was born.

Unlike other commercial play equipment representatives, RCT is able to offer its customers complete turn-key quotes and services. By utilizing the resources provided by CST, RCT can provide complete installation of the play equipment and fall zone materials, site furnishings, site preparation, consulting, inspection, and quality control. On most projects, all work is performed by RCT and CST employees, not sub-contracted to others. Custom Swings of Texas, Inc. has achieved “Certified Installer” status with Landscape Structures, Inc. Our installers specialize in Landscape Structures equipment… they rarely install other companies’ equipment. Utilizing the over 10,000 square feet of warehouse and manufacturing space owned by CST, our installers are able to receive truckloads of LSI equipment and pre-assemble slides, components, and independent climbers and events inside a clean and controlled environment. They prepare playground sized hole layout templates on plastic which improve the accuracy of the hole digging step while decreasing the amount of time it takes to layout a complete playground onsite. The result is a more efficient use of our employees’ time, higher quality control on the assembly process, and lower cost to the customer for installation. It also means that we spend less time on site because we do so much of the work before we get there. It’s a win-win for RCT, CST and the customer.
